Black Wall Street

Inspired by the black business that stood before the the Tulsa race riots during the early 20th century. The Williams Dreamland Theatre served as one of the places that community members gathered during the chaos to organize and develop a plan of action.  It was one of the only places to showcase African American audiences to live musical and theatrical revues as well as silent films.

Ultimately, the theatre was destroyed when 35 city blocks of Greenwood burned as a result of arson during the riot.
